About

High Point Village Residents Association (HPVRA) was set up to represent the three largest buildings at High Point Village; Vantage, Navigation and Cardinal. Like any other Residents/Tenants Association it was founded under provisions in the Landlord and Tenant Act and its primary function is to hold our building managers (Ballymore Asset Management Ltd) accountable for how they spend monies paid by Leaseholders and to ensure that our investment is being properly managed.

leaseholders

Apartments at High Point Village are split between approximately 60% buy-to-let investors and 40% owner occupiers. We are currently seeking formal recognition by Ballymore in order to achieve this more effectively, and in order to force recognition are required to achieve 60% representation of leaseholders. Whether you are a resident or an investment landlord (or both!) please contact us and register your property in order to have your say. You will be entitled to vote in proportion to the number of leases that you hold, so it is important that you register and tell us about each separate apartment you own in either Vantage, Navigation or Cardinal buildings. We seek to represent the three buildings both jointly and individually, which means that as soon as we reach 60% representation of any one building we will be able to secure recognition in that respect.

tenants

High Point Village is also a wonderful community, and in terms of the day-to-day life of the estate tenants make up the majority of that community. Tenants will often be the first to notice issues or concerns within the estate, and it’s important that their voice is heard. Although under the legislation it’s the leaseholders who have a vote on how Service Charge money is spent, if the estate is not well run and/or there are any problems that crop up, tenants are often the first to know. Happy tenants and a happy community make letting apartments easier, helping to reduce void periods and therefore improving return for landlords. Voting rights are restricted to leaseholders by the terms of the Landlord and Tenant Act. Therefore tenants are not able to become a member of the residents association. Failure to comply with this would be grounds for the management company to refuse recognition. Tenants are encouraged to report issues to their landlords, who in turn should raise the issue with the residents association.
